What is An embedded Network?

The original idea of an Embedded Network was revolutionary. It set out to combine all electricity accounts within a complex, into a single entity. This then allowed the entire site to be eligible for cheaper wholesale electricity rates. These now cheaper rates can be passed onto the end user, or at least that was the idea. In fact now most embedded network operators don’t pass these savings onto the end users at all, but lock you into high tariffs.

There are costs involved with managing embedded networks. The now private end-user meters must be read and maintained, accurate bills must be issued and all credit management must be checked and maintained, these are all services that must be performed, but at what cost to the end user?

What are the benefits of an embedded network?

By purchasing electricity for the whole building this upgrades your consumer status to “large market consumer” thus entitling you to greater reductions on energy rates.

Residents and tenants can be assured they will pay lower than the most competitive rates in the market. With no demanding and overly restrictive lock-in contracts.

Residents and tenants deal with an Australian based customer service team that understands their needs and can respond accordingly.

As buildings age the ongoing and maintenance costs inevitably rise. With lower fees and a constant flow of funds at your disposal, these new costs can easily be offset.

A guaranteed life-time of lower bills/fees can be a valuable tool that potential new owners/investors, tenants and residents recognise as a positive motivator when considering premises.

Moving in/out energy management becomes easier for tenants.

What is Income Generation in the context of energy management for tenants and retailers?

Income generation refers to a fixed amount that is accumulated based on the kilowatt-hour (kWh) usage. This amount is collected from all tenants or retailers. The collected funds can either be paid back to the owner’s corporation, strata plan, or used to further offset the billing for common areas.

How does the Tariff Review process work?

Our tariff review process is designed to ensure customers receive the most competitive energy rates. We conduct yearly reviews of the tariffs being applied to our clients and compare these with the available tariffs in the Australian energy market. This ensures that our clients are always paying the best possible prices for their energy usage.

What are the benefits of regular Tariff Reviews?

Regular tariff reviews guarantee that you are not overpaying for energy. By comparing current tariffs with those available in the broader market, we ensure that you benefit from the lowest obtainable rates, leading to cost savings and more efficient energy usage.

Can the income generated from kWh charges be used for purposes other than paying back to the owner's corporation or strata plan?

Yes, the income generated can also be used to offset the cost of common area energy bills. This can lead to reduced overall energy expenses for the building and benefit all tenants and retailers.
